The study of design history gives context to our contemporary visual culture - using the past to decode the present and forecast a stylistic future. Taking the time to learn about design history results in insight into; how designers visually designed; their thoughts, philosophies, and methods of solving problems and; why they made the specific design choices that they made throughout their career.
