What is ‘Construct’?

Construct uses AR to help customers build their IKEA furniture!

The IKEA Place App Design uses AR technology to add interactivity to the app experience. With IKEA Place, the user can try items from the retailer in their actual homes using augmented reality. The user simply points their camera at their surroundings, specifically wherever they'd like to place an item.

The infrastructure of the IKEA Place app has already been made; ‘Construct’ will be an additional element to enhance the user experience.

Application Touch-point Outline

Once the QR code has been scanned, the instructions will begin at box opening with arrows, so the box isn’t upside down.
List of the types and numbers of pieces. Additional tools needed for the build will also be listed (eg. screwdriver). Have an estimated time for the build.
Explain the space needed to build, as well as advising a suitable environment, with factors including a soft protected surface to build (eg. rug), an unpopulated area (no kids or pets running around).
